The National Defense University Foundation, Inc. was established in 1982 to support and enhance the mission and goals of the National Defense University (NDU) by promoting excellence and innovation in education by nurturing high standards of scholarship, leadership and professionalism. The National Defense University is the premier center for Joint Professional Military Education (JPME) and is under the direction of the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff. The University’s main campus is on Fort McNair in Washington, D.C. The Joint Forces Staff College is located in Norfolk, VA. The National Defense University is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools. The National Defense University Foundation brings together dedicated individuals, corporations, organizations, and groups that are committed to advancing America’s national security and defense capabilities through the National Defense University. The American Patriot Award is awarded annually by the NDU Foundation as a celebration of the unique American spirit of patriotism. |
